Built on 20+ Years of Underground Coal Mining Experience
Proflow Industrial was born from over two decades of hands-on experience in Australia's most challenging underground coal mining environments. Working in some of the highest-producing and gassiest coal seams in the country, our founder has personally witnessed the critical challenges of gas management as an operator, supervisor, and manager.
This isn't just a business venture—it's a mission-driven by authentic mining experience and a genuine desire to create safer, more effective solutions. After witnessing numerous incidents and High Potential Incidents (HPIs) involving gas leakage into mine workings, we recognised that existing solutions were often inadequate, leading to dangerous rework situations with increased risk due to pressure build-up in boreholes.
Proflow's gas borehole bypass system was developed as a direct response to these real-world challenges. Every design decision, every component, and every process has been informed by actual mining incidents and the practical realities of underground operations.
OUR STORY
The journey to creating Proflow Industrial began underground, in the challenging environment of Australia's coal mines. For over 20 years, our founder worked at the coalface, experiencing firsthand the daily challenges of managing gas in high-production mining operations.
Time and again, when gas drainage boreholes were intersected during mining, the available solutions proved inadequate—they were cumbersome, time-consuming, and often unreliable. These incidents frequently resulted in gas leakage into mine workings, production delays, and increased safety risks during rework.
What was needed wasn't a theoretical solution designed by engineers with limited field experience, but a practical system created by someone who understood the realities of underground mining operations.
Drawing on extensive experience as an operator, supervisor, and manager in some of Australia's gassiest coal seams, our founder set out to develop a better approach—one that would be faster to implement, more reliable in performance, and designed specifically for the unique challenges of underground coal mining.
